Inspired by the rich look and feel of granite rock, this robust paint has a flecked appearance created from recycled dried paint. Earthcote Granite is a versatile indoor paint, which allows for the perfect introduction of soft, and soulful accessories. A faux throw, beautiful drapes or a classic rug, creating a well-balanced feel of luxury and decadence. A perfect result is when one’s eyes dance around a room, intrigued by various layers of textured elements which form the perfect marriage.
Adding layers of texture in every room, is the key to a beautiful warm and comfortable home. Even if bold colours or patterns are not your preference, the result does not have to be busy or over-done. Regardless of your personal style, combining different layers, textures and colours is what makes a space interesting.
Watch and learn as they say and stay tuned for more DIY episodes each month. This month we were brave and mixed up a couple of products with Granite to create a soulful focus wall that will leave all its onlookers in awe.

Steps:
BE TOTALLY HONEST ABOUT HOW YOU ACTUALLY LIVE
If you do not use your formal dining room for meals, and prefer eating in the family room in front of the TV, add a table to the room which lifts-up and serves as a tray table. If you need a home office or play area for the kids, go ahead and turn your dining room into an office or play room.
BUY YOUR FURNITURE FROM DIFFERENT STORES
You may like the look of a specific, trendy store. What is it about the look that you like? Think about it, and go ahead and create a look with a mix of different furniture from different stores. ‘Soul’ does not feel, or look like a page out of a furniture catalogue.
ADD TO THE MIX SOMETHING HANDMADE, VINTAGE OR UNEXPECTED
This is a great way to bring ‘Soul’ into any room. Something hand-made, or with a bit of history. Consider an original work of art, (even child-art), a custom-made item, or even a basket. Make sure it doesn’t have ‘Made in China’ on the label.
FAMILY PORTRAITS
Show your visitors who lives there. Instead of scattering family photos around the house, create a greater impact by displaying them all together. This is a great way of adding ‘Soul’ to your home.
BOOKS
Pardon the pun, but books reflecting your interests, and books which you have actually read, tell lots of stories. This is a great way of letting visitors know about you and at the same time, creates personality and ‘Soul’ in the home.
COLLECTIONS
Regardless of whether your collection is or isn’t trendy, display what you love and collect. It needs to speak to you, and will fill your home with ‘Soul’.
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS BASED ON WHAT YOU LIKE AND NOT ON WHAT IS TRENDING
Paint your walls in the colours you like, and not in colours which happen to be trending. Choose colours that you enjoy and which make you feel happy.
