Paintsmiths is synonymous with ambience and isn’t fireplaces just the best Winter accessory to create a warm cosy feeling? The right wall and fireplace combination are a marriage made in heaven. You will think about curling in your nook till Spring comes.

A colourful accent wall is a great way to create a fresh new look for a room.  An accent wall establishes a focal point in your space, so the wall you choose is important. If you have a fireplace, built-in bookshelves, or some other feature you want to spotlight, use the accent wall to draw eyes straight to it. Consider the room’s purpose, the mood you want to create, and current colour scheme before selecting your paint colour.

Paintsmiths offer a wide range of various paint finishes to enhance your fireplace and braai areas ensuring that your individual uniqueness is displayed to the fullest. With our basket of specialised products, you can be your own decorator going from designing rustic braai to a modern, contemporary finish.

Soft seats or even daybeds next to a fireplace, scattered cushions on the floors creates the comfiest place in the world after your bed in the morning.

Let me give you a few ideas:
The focal point of a room is not always the wall you see when you first walk in. Go with the wall that you want to draw attention to because it’s interesting or unique in some way. For example, in a room with a fireplace, accent the fireplace wall.

The above braai and Fireplace have our Paintsmiths 1.5mm SCRATCH PLASTER finish which is a trowel on application and would therefore require a specialised applicator. The above has been applied with a vertical finish, but random patterns can also be achieved.

The below braai has our Midas Earthcote LIMESTONE finish, which has a rough feel to it. This can be a DIY product and is brush applied in a criss-cross manner, giving you a more controlled amount of movement, instead of the standard “flat” paint finish.

The fireplace is finished with our Midas Earthcote PANDOMO. This is a trowel on application and would require a specialised applicator. The movement in the finish can be adapted to be less or more, based on the application. It has a very smooth feel once completed.
